In an earlier question I asked about which programming languages i should concentrate on in school. Now I need to know if an associates degree in computer science-programming will be sufficient in obtaining a good job. What should I expect as a starting salary?

I've asked this question of several people who consider themselves computer braniacs. Alas, no one even has a plausible guess, much less an answer.

For the past several years on 3 different pcs I've found in c:\Windows Explorer\Programs\ executable applications which, when double-clicked to open, give me a file full of hockey pucks written in gibberish. The file starts with the initials MZ and a little space down the page is "THIS PROGRAM CANNOT RUN IN MS DOS!" (I'm not shouting, I'm quoting. Text is in all caps.)

Looking at them in Windows file tree, these files look like any other program. They have cute little icons and everything. Type of file is "Application".

All the research I've done has hit a dead end.

I'm betting on you kind folks out in www land for some help.

Any thoughts?

I'm thinking about making a computer game, but don't know which language to use. I prefer object oriented, because that just seems easier to use, but if I'm wrong please tell me. I have a basic understanding of Java, and know where to get the whole specification for it if needed. Is Java good, or is there something better? I have a Windows 98 and an Windows XP. I also need to know how to get a Java compiler if that is the language to use. I've looked at the site and can't find one.

I would like to setup up the function keys (F1- F12) to run as hot keys. That way, I can perform specific funcitons with a single key stroke. Also, I would be able to initiate macros from the F keys.

I have graduated from a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology. I'm still looking for a job. I don't know what career to focus, There are many programming languages and they are improving and sprouting anywhere. I am so confused on what to focus. There a message displays when i boot up my pc..
It said ntdll is missing . Press Alt+control+Del to restart ur computer ..
And i dont know how to fix it ,, Cause there no more choice instead of pressing alt+contol+del ... ..

Im using Windows XP professional ..
And this is the first time that i cant really fix it ..
