I'm thinking about making a computer game, but don't know which language to use. I prefer object oriented, because that just seems easier to use, but if I'm wrong please tell me. I have a basic understanding of Java, and know where to get the whole specification for it if needed. Is Java good, or is there something better? I have a Windows 98 and an Windows XP. I also need to know how to get a Java compiler if that is the language to use. I've looked at the site and can't find one.

what do mean... object oriented is easy....i don't think C++ is an easy... even finest programmers feel it difficult... however C++ is best programming language... no matter in creating game or software or Operating System or even another programming language!
