okay, I'm not too good with PHP, but I've been trying my best. So far, I have something along the lines of this:

$img1 = "http://www.pic.com/pic.jpg"
$img2 = "default.jpg"

now I want $img1 to load as the image, but should it not be able to load (the hosting server is offline, picture was deleted, etc.) then it will display $img2. I can't seem to put together a workable code, though I think it probably utilizes the "if", or "else" conditions. If at all possible could someone show me what the code is??? I've been up all night trying to figure this out!

I always have errors come up and I can send e-mail but can't receive.I've tried using outlook express as my default and I've got the POP3 and receiving addresses typed in and applied. Also, when my friends send e-mail they say it comes back or when they try to forward it comes back. Any suggestions? Anybody?

My desktop has completely died - on startup, it makes noises but I don't even get the BIOS info up, the screen is completely blank.

First of all, am I right to think this is probably down to the failure of something fundamental (BIOS, CPU, memory etc)?

Secondly, what are the chances this might have been caused by a virus? I had problems with a virus a few months ago which reformatted my hard drive (despite the fact I was running Norton!), but is it possible for a virus to cause this severe a problem?

Thirdly, I'm buying a new computer: how can I get at the data on my old hard drive? [I'm assuming that isn't what's failed because I don't even get to that point in the startup]. Is it possible just to take it out and install it into my new machine as a slave? Could that bring any viruses with it? Or am I better spending c.£100 on getting a professional to do it?

All I really want are my photos, e-mails and Excel/Word files since my last backup 3 weeks ago.

I have heard that writing in capitals online is like yelling. Is that it? Or is there some other reason? How did this "rule" get started anyways?

My computer said it needed more space and said to remove unused programs, so I did on a bunch of kid games my son no longer plays. However there is one program using 2,166 mb and if I click on remove or change, it gives a quick hourglass then stays there and doesn't do anything.

I tried to search for the program within the computer and nothing worked. The info it shows is the title is: Hyperload - Mah Jongg. If I click on the click here for support info it says: Publisher is Kraft and website is www.candystand.com where there is a mah jongg game we played before.

I searched my computer for all the above words with no luck. Any ideas on how to get rid of it? Thanks

Ok, so my computer has been running pretty raggedy latly and i had just a bunch of junk on it. I run antivirus that updates regularly, i have spyware scans i do regularly, i do everything you can. I run zone alarm. So i just deleted a lot of things, but how can i clean memory and remove pointless things that are just acting as clutter? What else can i do other than completly formatting to help my computer.
