Yes, use Windex on a glass front of an old fashioned CRT monitor.

NO, most LCD monitors tell you to use a damp cloth.

Since a CRT will last 7 years or so, you can keep it very clean with Windex on the glass. But the LCD monitor might last 20 years or more. Isn't that a HOOT that the plastic front can get stained and get fingerprints that get stuck there forever. So at some point, you throw the LCD monitor away while it still works, because some JERK put his grubby little hands on it.

There should be a family rule: "Don't Tough the LCD monitor screen". But maybe they will make clear plastic sheets that fit in front. Let's keep the good LCD monitors out of our town's landfill.

For a CRT sure, but spray in on the rag, not the screen. Probably a bit harsh for laptop or flat panel, I usually stick to using lens cleaners for those.

NO ! You can actually ruin the screen with windex. Use a damp cloth with nothing, or use a damp cloth with a small amount of dish soap....not too much tho. And if you're REAL careful, use a very light amount of rubbing alcohol.

Yeah but don't spray it directly onto the computer screen. Spray it on a paper towel and then use the paper towel to wipe your computer screen off. ( It don't take a lot so don't soak the paper towel)

sure. The cloth is more important to prevent scratching.

The screen is glass (usually). The case is usually a high density plastic and shouldn't be harmed either.

Don't spray it on the screen. Spray it on a cloth and wipe the screen.
