Obivoulsy you'll need a digital projector, which you can buy from your local photographic/Computer shop like PC World (keep away) or rent by checking out the yellow pages. Or better still beg, borrow from a friend.

some things to bear in mind the quality will largely be down to a couple of things:

1. Resoulition and distance (inc in distance will need to inc resloultion otherwise the images could become boltchy and distorted - remember thsoe old blocky graphic games).
2. The Whitness and smoothness of the projected area i.e the wall (whiter and smoother the better).
3. Quality of the image to begin with.

The Connection should be very simple depending on your laptop but the following steps should be a good guide to help:-

1. Connect the projector's connection cord (should come with the projector) to the computer's video port usually found on the back of most laptop computers, but be very careful not to bend the small pins in the video plug.

2. Use the computer's function keys to activate the video port.

3. Most newer laptop computers have three settings:
i) Laptop screen only
ii) Projector only
iii) Both computer screen and projector together -Use this setting if possible that way it'll to allow you to see the computer and changes things rather than looking at the projected image.

4. Be patient when changing the settings—some projectors take time to sense the computer's video output and adjust the projected image.

5. For older computers that require the projector to be connected during the startup process
i) Set the screen resolution to be the same or lower than the projector.
ii) Shut down the computer once the computer screen resolution is set.
iii) Connect the projector to the computer's video port.
iv) Restart the computer.

Just in case a problem occurs, here is some simple troubleshooting tips:

1. Make sure the cables between the computer and the projector are properly connected.
i) Check for bent pins.
ii) Make sure the universal connector is set to the correct settings.

2. Make sure that both the projector and the computer are receiving power.
i) Is the projector fan running and are the projector lights visible?
ii) Is the computer on?

3. Have the projector and computer been turned on in the proper order?
i) The projector must be turned on first.
ii) The computer must be turned on second.

4. Are the projector and the laptop computer running at the same resolution?
i) Check the screen resolution on the laptop computer and make sure it matches the resolution on the projector.
ii) Check the projector to see if the projector is set for receiving computer images; some projectors have a different setting for receiving TV images.

5. Check the projector lamp and the lamp indicator.

Common Problems:

1. The computer and the projector are not properly connected.

2. The video plugs are not properly seated.
i) Check both the computer and projector and any plugs that are on a universal connecting cable.
ii) Use the screws to secure the video cable to the computer and the projector.

3. The video plug pins have been bent.

4. The computer and the projector resolution do not match
i) change the computer resolution and restart the process.

5. The projector is set to receive TV images and not computer video images.

6. The projector and the computer have not been turned on in the proper order or with the correct procedures.

7. Everyting freezes.
i) Sometimes simply turning everything off and restarting in the correct order will resolve unexpected problems.

8. If all else fails - STOP, get a beer and get drunk - things won't seem so bad. That is of course unless you have taken it out on the laptop - then in morning/afternoon if you can't find the laptop try the bin or the garden (thats where i look)

Have a great party... hope this helps

A cheap way to do this is to get the photographs transferred on to slides and then buy a second hand projector from one of these "buy and sell" shops that are all over the High Streets.

of course you would need a digital projector connected to your laptop.
then you can find and image software that allows you to produce a slideshow of images in a certain folder
-you can use a windows xp screensaver that does just that
-if you don't have windows you can use something la irfanview http://www.irfanview.com/ - best software for fast image management - and it's free !

hire a projection machine, try the yellow pages. (you will need a special lead to hook it up to the laptop, the company should supply you with one if you ask.

I would rid it up high so it won't get knocked about.
