A friend (a nun) wants to get her first laptop (her first computer ever) and has found a good deal on a Dell. Aside from being willing to talk to India when something goes wrong, is there anything she should know about Dells? And what would be a good model to get? And should she buy it online, from Dell directly, or from a different site, or from a retail store?

God bless you, and watch your language! (I know many people hate Dells...)

This question is already typed and will be activated by my new invention of a double lever fixed to a cog which will go round and hit 'the mouse to click on submit when the timer comes on. I shall be in bed so I won't know until morning if it works but it should because I've tested it but had to steady it a bit. I've now added weights so- Goodnight.

I came home the other day and the screen on my laptop was busted. The screen itself in fine, no cracks. The liquid inside exploded and left huge black streaks through the screen. Can this just happen? It was fine the night before, and I had been at work all day. Im the only one that uses it, so how can this just happen? Would HP fix it for free? Thank you.

I mean make it more entertaining:
if its a good answer show a "light bulb" the symbol for an idea.
if it's not so ok then the "bomb with a lit fuse."
Or the "smiley" icon
or an "angry face" or "smirking face."
In short since there is really no prize on answering make it more amusing or worth our while.

What I mean is, when I go to Explorer, or even to a website, it remains unchanged since the last time I viewed that page. For instance, I use Yahoo as my home page. If I don't go to the home page for a few days, I see it never updated. So, for instance, news is very old. Another example, with ASK (here), it's the same. When I first signed in, I saw what was posted the last time I was at this site. SO I have to actually hit the refresh button. Why is that, and how do I fix that?
Crazy, huh?!?
Thanks

Also, when I type, windows pop up. For example, when i hit the key "p" the print menu shows up (like hitting ctrl + p). Or when I hit "s" the save menu comes up. When I open certain programs, like Mozilla Firefox, or iTunes, the screen starts scrolling up and down really fast. I don't know how to fix this problem, and I want to avoid getting a new computer, so if anyone has any ideas on how to fix it, then thanks.

I have windows XP. I've tried to save a picture (just something cute I saw on line) to my desktop as "background"(by right clicking on the image). However, the image is always distorted. Please tell me how I can avoid this! Thank you.

I currently have an RCA single stereo jack to a Red and White split that hooks into my reciever for playing the computer sound throughout the house. However where the computer is located there are no speakers so I still want to use my computer speakers. I bought a headphone splitter, which is simply just a stereo jack split into 2. So I plug in the computer speakers to one and the RCA splitter to the other. However now everything only plays out of 1 speaker! Is there a better way to connect 2 things to the sound output of the soundcard?
