Also, when I type, windows pop up. For example, when i hit the key "p" the print menu shows up (like hitting ctrl + p). Or when I hit "s" the save menu comes up. When I open certain programs, like Mozilla Firefox, or iTunes, the screen starts scrolling up and down really fast. I don't know how to fix this problem, and I want to avoid getting a new computer, so if anyone has any ideas on how to fix it, then thanks.

I have no idea what is causing this problem, I do know to restart your computer fixes a lot of problems, if that doesn't work, unplug Computer for a few minuets, plug back in, this takes care of some problems, also had you installed are downloaded something new when it started? if so get rid of it, might help to Restore back to an earlier date, if you want you can undo restore, goes back like it was, I don't think you need a new Computer.I hope some of this helps, I have never had the problem you have, these are the ways I have fixed other problems.
also delete all temperory files, clear History, delete cookies.

first, check if your Ctrl keys on the keyboard is stuck (hit these keys hard enough to unstuck them.), better yet is to replace your keyboard with another one and see if your problem is still there.

with regards to your computer screen, check or replace your video wiring and tighen all terminals, you might have some loose connection somewhere. also try to replace the video card if you can get one from other pc around you. what we are doing here is solving problem by elimination.

if in case you still have the problem with the screen even if you have replace the wiring and have tightened properly the terminals, then better go to your supplier and ask for a replacement (i would assume that this is still under warranty).

you must have installed some software... my friend's computer shows weather the caps lock is on or not... it must be some software... try formating your hard disk... also make sure that no electromagnetic devices (speakers, mobiles etc) are around the screen (this ususally affects the old crt monitors... give it a try anyway).
