I keep seeing this term in the computer magazine "Circuit Cellar" and I never can seem to find the answer!

Okay,

I want to record a message so when I am not on the phone people will hear my voice and not a mechanical one! After I record it asks me to press POUNDS~ WHAT IS THAT? What button do I press, b/c I don't know what POUNDS IS!

I babysit my neice who is 12 years old and she gets on the computer all the time. It seems like she is hiding something because everytime I come in the room she closes out what she was doing on the computer. I have parental controls on but still I worry she is talking to strangers on Myspace and yahoo chat forums. Is it illegal to get Spyware? Where do you get it? Any suggestions? Do you think its morally wrong to get this. The mother likes the idea of it.

I have road runner, cable internet. I have a desktop computer and a laptop computer and a wireless router. For some reason, the other day, the Internet speed on the desktop dramatically decreased! I tried to download a 10MB test file and I was only getting about 6Kbps, while on the laptop I am getting 500Kbps on the same file, if not more. Both computers are connected to the wireless router, however the desktop is a wired connection. Everything has worked fine in the past, and this happened just at once. Any ideas?! I've ran spyware doctor and tcp optimizer with no results.

someone stole my email address and i cant even have a pw reset coz he changed my security question and infos. now, he keeps on emailing me and my gf usign the email that he stole from me.. i managed to let all my incoming emails to retrieve necessary infos through options>gen.prefrences and made the headers tp 'show all'.. is there a way i can trace the computer that is accessing the email add??

Hello, now u probably think im one one the millions of people suffering from pop-ups, and you would be right, but im quite computer smart, and i cannot for thge life of me figure out what my problem is! I keep getting pop-ups from the likes of....system doctor 2006, and winfixer, winantivirus pro...etc, they want me to download stupid fake, system destroying software, but im not gunna! and i keep getting these stupid pop-ups, sometimes 1 a minute! Norton 2006 finds them, and "apparently" removes them, but upon restart BAM there back.....there no point even running a scan cos when i do, i find, destroy, and restart to another misserable pop-up! I havnt downloaded any of their software....anyone any ideas to the solution of my problem!

I want to activate my windows xp, I go to activate Windows/ activate over the internet now/ lets just activate windows. and then I get message #32777, that announces that there is a problem with my network setting. However, my connections are fine and I could connect to the internet? what shalll I do?

I got this problem after installing Norton Internet Security 2007 and I was wondering if Norton was really the reason why I can't upload.

Other than that, I can't seem to attach files in any of my email addresses too (Yahoo!, Hotmail and Gmail). I did look up Gmail's FAQ and cleared my temp files and cookies but failed anyway. Help please!

If I block someone on my MSN messenger, what happens to the messages they try to send me? Do I still recieve them? or does something pop up to them telling them that the message can't be sent? I just want to know what happens. Thanks

At my school, just about every entertainment website is blocked. it really sucks. sometimes we cant even get on sites to do our work. does anyone know a way to get past these? someone found a way once by going to www.mpfp.info, but less than a week later it was blocked. please help!
