My friends and I all have myspace pages. We soon realized that ALL of us were getting friend requests from ppl we never known before. Ppl from Florida, Washington, etc. So are there. (I wouldn't doubt it)

Changed from dial-up to Broadband?
Last year I changed from BT dial-up to BT Broadband which is great. I always log-out at night and when I come to log-on in the morning the dial-up connection appears along with the broadband.
I can't get rid of it off the screen, can't connect to Broadband and have to go back to CONNECTIONS and click-on 'never dial-up a connection'. Then I apply it and OK it. This works for a while and then, later, when I'm on Broadband and try to open up a website the dial-up connection appears again. It's driving me mad! Only thing is not to log-out. Will this cost me more?

Hi,

I'm lauching a science and technology news website.

It's on a different language than English. English speaking market is dominated (and very well, I must admit) by science mag, nature, new scientist...

I already have the website web page done, and the domains registered. It has a CMS-like backoficce and I do not need to spend more money on it (on a short run).

The problem is that I do not have a penny and I need to start earning some bucks so I can give more time to the project, and get some more people to work on it.

Can anyone advise me the best way to start with it all?

Is the classified ad market over for the small guy. If so, why is Craigslist.com, and Backpage.com getting bigger? People would always want a way to post an item for-sale. So how can a new classified ad website get going. I hardly get any postings on my site even with the niche market of have military bases as site locations. Besides spending a $1000 for a 1/8 ad space on some weekly newspaper, what is the pychology for getting people to post to the site?

Is it the site's visual impression that makes it, or breaks it? The function of my site is great! As for features, it has a blogger, chat room, forum, and an inbox where people can join.

I am not totally sure if people are getting to the site or not. But if they are, what is causing them not to register to place free ad on my site.

How to choose a name for our startup's site? We are 3 entrepreneurs with a cool web2.0 website we are working on to let people coordinate recurring events. We've wasted hours creating spreadsheets with names and voting on them, but we can't come up with a name we all liked, or were all willing to live with. I have a hotmail account for personal use, but I was going to create a new hotmail acount for business use.. But I wanted my email to be @msn.com instead of @hotmail.com ... How is that possible? I've seen email addresses with @msn.com at the end.. but how?

I went to msn.com to try it, and when I went to "sign up" for email, it took me to hotmail.com domains... so what do I do?
