I have a Mac and I need to figure my IP address. The setting of my computer says something else, the IP address given by www.whatismyIP.com gives a different IP address - which one should I use? I will use this to answer tech-support so they can figure out where I last logged in to my hotmail account before it was hacked for verification I am the actual owner. Thanks.

Which is in firefox and Internet Explorer (IE) browses. But I often encounter errors as in the following:

"Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display correctly"

What can I do avoid this from happening? Thanks

I can open any site on Mozilla, except anything linking to a PDF file. I just get an error message saying "[file name] could not be opened because associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences."

I don't know what they mean. I can't find anything about preferences or PDF files anywhere. I'm assuming you do it from the part where it has "File, Edit, View, Go, etc" but I can't find it. I tried clicking Tools and then Options, but I don't see any option referring to PDF files.

It's kind of annoying having to go back to Internet Explorer just to see a PDF file, or having to save it to the computer and then open it was Adobe.

How can I fix this? Thanks!

PS: It's not that Mozilla and PDFs just aren't compatible; my roommate has been using Mozilla for years and PDFs work fine on her computer. But she can't find that setting to fix it either.

This is homework so i really need to do it. The site is on the trusted site list; it says "click to allow activex," and I do. Where the animation thing y should be there is just a white box with a red ex in the top left corner. Please help! How can I get my computer to let it play the animation?

Hi Everyone!
I Re-installed windows xp media centre and deleted everything from my computer.

Now windows is installed all I have on my desktop is the recycle bin!

I go to the start menu and go on to internet explorer, the net doesn’t work!

I use Belkin ADSL Modem wireless router, I know this works as I am on my laptop now!

The Belkin Manual says type in 192.168.2.1 into the browser and input information which my broadband service provider has given me! That’s fine but when I type these numbers in only a message comes up from Microsoft saying error webpage can not be shown!

When I read though the bekin manual more, it says your computer network “tcp/ip/Ethernet “needs to be set obtain an IP address automatically/using dhcp ! This might be the problem but there is no option for this, any where as there are no folders with different ways to connect anymore.

When I go to “control Panel” then network and internet connections, this page is different how it use to look. There is pick a task

Set up or change your internet connection

Etc, etc …

I have been though all of this trying different ways to connect and set up a connections but I am still not successful. Inculding internet option and properties

Please can someone help??
