Is there a way I can disable my internet explorer?

I use Verizon and for some reason IE keeps butting in when I am on different sites. This slowing up my computer big time and really getting on my nerves!

Yeah,

Go to Control Panel, then to Add or Remove Programs.

On the side, go to Add/Remove Windows Components.

Uncheck Interent Explorer.

Follow the directions on the screen until everything is complete.

Folow the directions about, but note that you can not "disable" internet explorer, you can only hide it.
