i pay for 256kb but im only getting 35kb when i download why is that my sys congifuere is
160gb hdd
512mb ram
2.12ghz processer
i have a cable inernet connection

I used to talk to people I didn't know personally on the internet a few years ago when I was 12 or 13 and I want to get a facebook but I don't want to if there is a big risk that they could find me. I have it set pretty private. Only people in network can see my profile. No one can search for me. No picture, though they didn't see a picture 5 years ago anyway. But I don't know if you would think it was at all risky. I just wish there was a way so you wouldn't show up in people's friends lists, then it would be pretty safe.

I have a message board forum that has been running for over a year now, made up of friends and friends of friends. It's just a friendship/chat/social thing, and occasionally we meet up.

However, in order to stop it from becoming stale, I'd like to try to encourage new people to join, but I'm not sure how to go about this without spending loads of money (that I don't have!), or without attracting people under about 25, who wouldn't really fit in with the discussions.

Can anyone help?

I want to go directly to my websites when I get onto my desktop, so how can I put seperate pages on there, instead of having to go open the internet explorer to the home page and then going to favorites?

I live in Iran and I cannot even download a simple music.They all ask for money.They do EVERYTHING with money.I think it's impossible for me to fill in those stupid forms asking for my non-existance credit card number and my home address and get a real answer.Whenever I try to update my anti-virus I get a message that I can't to that because I'm located here.Isn't it unfair?If I hadn't found that special anti-virus which can be updated from here, how was I supposed to deal with 310 new viruses that had attacked my PC?Why do I have to register where ever I visit on the internet?We don't have any copy right law in Iran and this law on the internet has made my whole life hell.Why is this?I cannot even find a website to upload some music there because of copy right law.So why do they say the internet is FREE for everyone, while it's actually a prison.There's absolutely nothing I could do but searching for things, reading the news and some other things all concerning READING AND WRITING.(Sometimes sending a music file to my friend)In Iran we can buy any CDs for a very cheap price.I've heard windows vista is gonna cost you a fortune (around 700 dollars, more expensive than a PC) and that play station 3 games are gonna cost you 70 dollars, while we could buy them for half a dollar in Iran (When they come out).In fact we buy every new software and game for LESS THAN HALF A DOLLAR.Who controls the internet and doesn't allow anyone to use it for free?Copy Right law has just made life HELL.Shouldn't we all be free to do whatever we wish to on the internet without someone bothering us?Whithout any watch dogs?Without any copy right laws?Any ideas?
