I have a message board forum that has been running for over a year now, made up of friends and friends of friends. It's just a friendship/chat/social thing, and occasionally we meet up.

However, in order to stop it from becoming stale, I'd like to try to encourage new people to join, but I'm not sure how to go about this without spending loads of money (that I don't have!), or without attracting people under about 25, who wouldn't really fit in with the discussions.

Can anyone help?

Does anyone know of any good ways to advertise a forum to a targeted audience?

Usually by joining other forums of the same topic. Adding your link to your signiture... thats really about it.

Use a Myers-Briggs
Personality Test.

If the applicant's points fall within the desired range,
you can allow them into your forum.
