Honestly having been selling on ebay for a year now..
1) Hot products during different times of the year..ie items sought after.
2) Things that you love...Things you don't need anymore or want.
I recommend that you go to this site: http://www.worldwidebrands.com/?kbid=12011 and go under the FREE Stuff tab and read the FREE ebook it talks about dropshipping...wholesale suppliers..etc...very honest...to the point..and not very long I wouldn't be where I am now if it wasn't for them :)
You can also try: What Do I Sell : http://www.whatdoisell.com/redir_a.php?LFAId=1319
I will attach my ME page from ebay I have some other resources there to help you with starting your ebay business..either HIGHLY Recommended or I personally use myself :) Good Luck!

I have seen football and basketball tickets for professional games sell really well. You know......scalping. I met a person that sold furniture on ebay and said he made thousands a month. But did not disclose where he got the furniture for wholesale. The trick is to buy something at cost or even below cost, then try to triple your money. If you cannot make even $20 more than what you paid, ebay is not worth it and a big waste of time. You have to clear all costs including ebay costs to make a profit. At least I do anyway. I have a hard time on ebay and generally don't participate. Waste of money and time.

The best thing to sell are things that you already have. Collectables that you don't want anymore and such. I went through my comics and a few statues pretty quickly. From there I got in the habit of selling my used PS2 games online, as you get more cash there than trading them in.
From there you will have a bit of money to reinvest in something you really want to sell.

Take a walk round your house and get all the rubbish you can find, clean it up, take pictures of it from at least 4 different angles, and bang it on making sure you cover your postage and listing costs in the p&p section, put a starting bid of £1 on everything, and laugh as you pack up you're rubbish and ship it to someone else. Never has the term 'money for old rope' been so appropriate

Anything designer....i sold a wallet that was used for $30 bucks. All the people I know sell clothes, purses, and shoes...they sell for the most money as long as they are made by a designer.

What seems to do best is to buy the one-month supply of Proactiv (the little bottle) for $25 and then fool people into thinking that it's the bigger bottle and sell it for $50.

i individually sell issues that I now no longer prefer or prefer. I sell outfits, cds, books, workstation video games and so on. i'm at the instant merchandising some outfits, some nintendo ds video games, a pair of previous mobiles and a few books. seems slightly slow this week nonetheless.

I collected comics ( DC, 2000ad etc) for years, and sold most of them at at least 3x cover price on eBay last year bringing on well over £500 plus I made 25p to 75p on the postage for each sale and packing as I bought my envelopes in bulk.
Also, keep your eyes open for tilley parrafine lamp vapourisers and mantles in junk shops / jumble sales. they sell really well too.
