I want to scan old black and white photos. I have a visioneer 4400 scanner. After I scan them I want to be able to burn them to CD so I can take them to like a Wal-Mart or Walgreens and print them since my printers always seems to print crappy. After I scan them and then have to export them, a box always pops up that says JPEG/Flash Pix compression Quality and it has a slider from low to high( 0-100), wghat does this mean? and what would I set it on...Thanks

i have installed the scanner but i didnt have a driver, so i got the driver of driverguide.com and installed that too. My scanner has come on but i dont know how to start scanning things ,can you help me please

When my friend's new Epson scanner scans 4 pictures, it automatically cuts/loads 4 jpgs onscreen.

How can i do that w/ my Canon scanner?
Is the cutting software driven? What can i use?

I can't find it it add/remove programs. I originally had xp-home and bought and installed xp-pro on top of it. I have a lot of problems I can't fix for nothin. My disk defragmenter quit working and all suggestions to fix it has failed. I'm thinking if I un-install and re-install it , it might fix everything.

Ok I'm no good with computers! I have no idea what I am doing most of the time. I scanned some pictures. And I save them. But they wont let me crop it where I save them. Or send them out! how do I crop them to be sent out. How come it wont let me? does this make sense?

Ok I asked a question on here about how to hook up a scanner with out the software. And got a good website to go to. So thanks for all that helped! but now it wont let me scan anything! I have a visioneer one touch 5600 usb and when I press scan it says scan button not configured. What does this mean? and how do I fix it?

well, I want to do this 'cause I have so many bills and I just want to scan them all with my proofs of payment for the month and sort my bills with different folder for mortage pymnts,credit card pymnts etc.. instead of having all paper bills in a box.

the back of the pc. now that i have my windows xp installed, my usb was disabled. I went into the bios and inabled the usb but now there is a yellow question mark over the usb and usb will not work. can anyone tell me how to fix this problem? i cannot get on line or get the explorer.

then started to load the xp over it. it was just about to load windows when it stopped and said ( cannot copy bootvid.dll) I have no idea what that means or what to do next. I thought that by having two new copys of 98 and xp, I would not have this kind of problem. Can anyone out there help me out? I need to get xp loaded and i need 98 on there because i only have the upgrade of xp.

I have a fax, printer, scanner all in one. It is about 5 months old and has worked great, until today. I went to scan a photo, and it says "scanner cannot connect to PC" ....it worked just two days ago so I dont understand why its not connecting. Does anyone know how to fix it? Thank you.
