You did not say what to scan for but this is the best free thing I can think of...that I use also.

Ad-Aware is a great program that scans for spyware and such. it is made by lavasoft.

Mcafee , Symantec . those are the biggest companies for viruses , now do a search in google with the string pc online virus scan , that should give you the results you need
