Ok I asked a question on here about how to hook up a scanner with out the software. And got a good website to go to. So thanks for all that helped! but now it wont let me scan anything! I have a visioneer one touch 5600 usb and when I press scan it says scan button not configured. What does this mean? and how do I fix it?

It sounds as though you haven't configured your buttons correctly, Felix.

On the same page that you downloaded the driver for your scanner, you should see that there's the option to open the User Guide. I would recommend you do that. Once the .pdf file is open, you can save a copy on your hard drive.

I've only briefly skimmed through the first few pages of the User Guide, but it seems that when you configure it, you're meant to tell the scanner which program to use once it's scanned a picture/or text.

To reach this configuration utility, you need to right-click on the scanner icon in your taskbar, and select 'configuration'. Here you are able to choose which program it utilises, and where it saves files to.

Here's the manual/instruction. The button configuration stuff is somewhere on pages 15 - 21. You might want to read the whole thing if you have the time. Good luck
