I have a old 15pin serial port joystick. My new Motherboard dont have such port. So I wish to connect it using USB. Please tell me what should I do? Where can I find a 15pin serial to USB connector?

I bought a new Bluetooth adapter (a USB dongle), but the Bluetooth Devices applet do not exist in Control Panel. Though Help & Support Center in Windows XP states that I can find it in Printers and Other Hardware catefory, I still can't find it (though my device is inserted yet). The adapter that I bought was a product of IVT Corporation, BlueSoleil.

I recently upgraded my Emachines T6212 from the on-board ATI X200
graphics card to an ATI X1650 PRO. I can't figure out how to disable
the X200 in the BIOS. I can get to the BIOS, but I don't see any
specific mention of the on-board video card. It's all BIOS acronyms
that I don't understand. Can anyone tell me how to do it? Help would
be MUCH appreciated!

I did not have to do anything. Just plug it in and it automatically uses
the PCI Express card.

Hi, I bought a Dell GX520 System which cannot be upgraded in the sense cannot add a DVD Burner or a Hard Disk in the system. It has 8 USB2.0 ports and I connected an External Hard Disk and got an LG DVD Burner (normal one) with a 5.25" case and connected using USB Drive. I can play movies and stuff but cannot burn CDs / DVDs. It starts to burn but stops in the middle sometimes at 20% 30% 50% 70% even at 80%. I tried it on Windows XP Professional / Home and Ne\ro 6.0 and 7. Even in My computer, it shows as DVD RW but if you insert a blank DVD / CD it doesnt open up as is usually done in Windows XP.

I do not know if the problem is with the DVD Burner or with the External Case. I dont have other sources to check the gadgets.

i hv burned the ubuntu linux iso image onto a cd. i hv a dual boot with 98 and xp. when i reboot my computer, even if i hv inserted the cd, tthe pc boots xp. is there any way to install linnux without uninstalling any OS?

My power adapter for my external CD RW Drive which has a 5.25 volts output was lost and I'm trying to find a replacement for it. Will a 5 volts or 6 volts adapter be a safe alternative? If I plug it into a 1000 m.a. without knowing its capacity be unsafe?

Iv got the graphics card placed in the computer like the book told me but when i go to install the card with the disc provided this error comes up right before installing it
"Setup was unable to complete the installation. try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup" Please help any one!

Im also using a Emachine Model T6212 and have 1GB Ram

I have recently ended my long friendship with Intel processors and switched to AMD. Even though I am no neophyte regarding computers I find myself in the need to ask this question: Does the 3700 number in my Athlon 64 (2.2 mhz) processor mean that it is as fast as an Intel Pentium 4 processor (3.7 mhz)?

My computer is running ms xp home it has and Amd processor that runs at 1.66 gh it has 512 mb of ram, one 8x agp slot, two 32bit pci slots I have seen many cards but dont know anything about compatability. I am interested in Nvidia and Ati cards to be precise I will be using the computer mostly for gaming. should I upgrade the computers ram to 1 or 2 gb?. sorry if this doesn't make much sense ;). my powerbooks HD had less than 1GB left so i bought an external HD and would now like to have my music stored on the external HD. The problem: I copied the music onto the external HD and after deleting the original files (luckily i only tried it out with a couple of songs) iTunes says it can't find the original file. if i locate the song on the external HD, it can play the song but i am not willing to do this for all of my nearly 7'000 songs! what folders/files must i copy to the external HD, what do i leave in the orginal iTunes folder and how do i do it? Help much wanted, thank you!!!!

My computer has never have a usb ports, so I decide to install a USB 2.0 PCI card. When I plug it on the mainbord and turn on my computer it doesn't start even you can't enter the bios configuration utility.

My mainboard is a PcChips M755LMR.

I've tried other brands of cards and it happens again.

mm, hey.

I just bought this Quantum WebCam tonight. And.. I followed the instructions.. and its supposed to work.. but its not.It says my webcam isn't connected.. nor is it workin on any messenger.. but everythins in place .. yeah, really.
