I have a printer with a USB socket on it but have lost the cable for it. Do I just buy a cable to go into the USB port of the printer and the USB port of the laptop or would it go into a different socket on the laptop (there is a socket on the laptop that looks like a telephone socket!). MIght be a stupid question but I really dont know! Can anyone help?

I wanna have an extra storage for my laptop, people have told me these solutions:

1) Get a rack for IDE Hard disks with usb support to have the maximum storage, maximum speed, cheapest solution..

2) Get an external usb hard disk for but you won't be able to run the full speed if attached to the desktop computer through usb..

I didn't get a specific answer about the speed of copy and paste in the both of them when connected with usb, is it like flash memory or faster or slower??

I recently picked up an old 19" CRT monitor from a friend, but it appears to be extremely dark. I've tried everything when it comes to settings - even whacking *everything* up to 100%. Can anyone confirm that this is broken before I just go ahead and bin it? What would cause such a thing?

I have used IE for many years, and I still like it. But recently, for some reason, it has started to complete my URL addresses that I am typing in the address box. I remember a long time ago, I told it NOT to do that. It started to do it again. Is there a way I can turn this off? I do NOT want it to attempt to complete the URL I am typing. Thanks for helping! (If it matters, I run on a Dell, with windows XP)
