They all pretty much cost the same but if you buy a refilable ink cartridge then all you will have to buy the ink which is less expensive. An ink cartridge can be filled almost 20 times before you need a one

I have found that Canon printers with 4 or 5 cartridges is the best way to go. Buying a printer with a BW and Color cartridge is nuts. When you run out of yellow, you have to buy the whole thing.

Lexmark makes a cheap printer, be careful. Check the diffrent prices of the ink and compare. It is a good idea to even check the internet for prices or ask in the store.
Stay away from Lexmark, the printer is really cheap, and that is what you get cheap.

Do not whatever you do buy a Lexmark, buy an epson they have 6 individual cartridges, black and five colours if one runs out you just replace that one colour. With a Lexmark you have to replace the whole unit if one colour runs out. Be sure to buy compatable ink cartridges they are way much cheaper than epsons own and just as good.

that is not plenty that the cartridges are costly, that's the easily printer heads, in case you have a affordable "fee" form printer you get much less pages of print on you money even 3 or 4 pages greater, is needed in case you utilize the printer plenty. additionally the printer settings can keep you ink, in case you purely use the default settings constantly, that is wasteful.

When you figure that one out-let us know. That is why a new printer is less than 100 bucks and the cartridges are 25-30.
That does not even include toner.

Canon if it's not using new generation cartridges. Cheapest Canon cartridges are BCI-3 and BCI-6 - $2-$3 each. Or just stick with Epson that will always work - $4-$6 each. Compare prices for different makes at http://fillserv.com/cic/category.php?category=Inkjet+Cartridges
