I have a desktop computer. My brother has installed several programs(about 1.5Gb) on it's D hard drive, the windows had istalled on C Hard drive, I have stored so many data files(about 2Gb) on F hard drive, now my computer's performance & speed has slowed down.
please judge between me & my brother. which one of these two are more effective on decreasing the computer's speed, programs which enter the Add/Rrmove Programs part in control panel or files and datas that only stored in a location on a hard drive?

I need to get an external hard drive for my laptop as Ive almost filled it up & I cant decide should I go for the Seagate 300gb with push button back up (as in easy)& USB Plus firewire (but is a yucky cream colour same as my modem) or shall I go for the LaCie 320gb USB only but silver so it matches my laptop & is designed by porshe? Price is similar so not the issue.

I have Windows XP installed, but not so sure it was a good installation my PC rebooted a couple of times half way thru the installation. Somehow, the machine is able to boot to C drive. However, I would like to do a fresh installation and I can't seem to boot from the installation disc off the CD rom.
I have configured the bios to boot with priority to CD rom and in fact was prompted to hit any key to start from CDrom. However, it still boots from the C drive.

i have tried everything even Nero i put a dvd in my computer so i can try to burn my vidoes and i get this message saying No disc inserted into drive then i get another one saying drive D is not ready Please wait while the drive is ready and then ress retry can anyone tell me what im doing wrong.. i have even used Nero recode and burn and then when its it done my dvd is still blank
