I downloaded Counterspy to rid my computer of Trojans and downloaded TrojanHunter just to make sure the trojans were gone, both programs were very good; but both failed to remove the following:

Registry scan
Suspicious registry entry: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\Microsoft Works Update Detection (Regedit Jump)
Registry value exists: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\.nvsvc (matches Agent.200) (Regedit Jump)
Inifile scan
No suspicious entries found
Port scan
No suspicious open ports found
Memory scan
No trojans found in memory
File scan (autostarted files, running executables)
No trojan files found

In simple terms please - What is Regedit Jump & How do I solve my problem.

I am looking for a freeware program that I can use to shrink a hard disk partition that already has Windows XP home and other programs already installed. I want to shrink the partition so that I can intall Linux Fedora as a dual boot.

How much space is good for Linux so that I can install both the O/S and have plenty of room to install other programs? Would 10 GB be ok?

Also, what is the success rate of shrinking a partition? I don't have any files on that hard drive that I cannot replace but I am just wondering how safe it is on preserving the data that is already there.

My Western Digital HDD model 2500JD is giving up on me. :((
I want ot buy a new HDD but don't know for which brand should I go...hm...I heard Maxtor is good also Seagate, but Seagate are very cheap=(in my opinion) low performance. I want a ATA133 based drive with built-in windows recognisence. I say this because I headr the Maxtor need some special drivers so that WinXP can recognize it. I don't have that much money to spend, but I would rather buy a small capacity but highly reliable HDD, than a crapy big sized HDD. I am really stuned because I knew that WD are top of the line HDDs, and now it's giving up on me, although I had it for 6 months. What advice would you give me?
My system is not an old one, it's just 6 months old:MB=Asus A8N-SLI DELUXE, CPU=AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Clawhammer core, RAM=Kingmax PC3200 512Mb*4=2Gb, VGA=Asus 6600LE/256 MB, Greentech power source 450W.

I have just began selling items on ebay, i have just put 5 items on by auctions, with a low start bib price and no reserve, but they dont seem to be selling, ive had views but no bids of any of them. How can i be successful at selling items by ebay?

I know I can remove it in the view menu. To add furthur insult I have to uncheck the Google toolbar to remove the Yahoo toolbar.

I can read items on my flash but i can't write. I can delete but after i take out the flash drive and look again when I reload they are there.

Comp. is only about 3 months old. Has the latest Norton Antivirus and Webroot Spysweeper and good cookie cleaner and so on. I thought it was basically virus proof. But I have been told I have a virus and it will cost $249.00 to repair. Computer is acting haywire and I don't know where to start.
I have already reset system to a previous date but didn't help.

Any advise ?
How do I find anything out without taking it in ?

Anytime I run Nortons or the SpySweep It says no threats or viruses detected.
But the comp. is only running good for about 15min. at a time.
Until now I have never even had to re-boot before.

I am a student and I'm looking for a notebook that is going to last me and provide all the lil neat personal stuff too( photos, account managing), I get a discount from Dell from my school but I want to know why is mac better, and if not which one is best.
