What if the company that I registered my domain name with has closed down? Let's say that I have registered my domain name under that company for one year and the company closed down after 8 months, will I still be able to use my domain name until it expires?

If your domain name was registered properly you own it as long as pay for it. However in order for your domain to be viewable on the internet it has to be pointed at proper name servers. If the company you registered with was your web hosting provider and they went out of business, you will need to transfer your doman to another hosting service.

It will depend on whether they also provide any hosting or parking space for your domain. If they are, you'll probably lose access. If all they've done is register the domain and you have it hosted somewhere else, you should be okay until it's time to renew the registration.

Do you need help with this?

You can still use the domain name and will be pointing to your website if your domain registrar do not modify the DNS configuration (just before closing).

Yes, you can. As long as you pay the bills it will remain active.

No, when the company is gone they don't redirect it anymore.
