Websites deal with variety of different languages.

One of the more extensive languages used is HTML (which in no means is hard).

HTML often uses the markups from CSS to make it stylish, and flurish, without letting size kill it.

This will help you make your FIRST website, which would be a static site.

Now selling products isn't easy, unless you use PayPal checkout, or Google Checkout.

1. You're gonna need PHP knowledge (extended knowledge, stuff you won't learn off w3schools.com). You'll also need to know MySQL, or any other database, which really isn't hard.
2. The usage for cookies is important to remember what the user has in his, or her shopping cart.
3. Checking out isn't easy AT ALL! You must learn HTTPS, unless you use, PAY WITH PAYPAL. SSL is helpful too.

------

Though shopping carts are VERY DYNAMIC. You can use XML and XHTML, and DHTML, to show what's hot, and what's NOT!

------

You can learn how to make a fully functional website with a fully functional shopping cart in about 1-2 months, of FULL studying.

Study PHP/MySQL hard!

In Yahoo, search "shopping cart tutorials"

Best luck!
Alex

Use Google to find out how to make your own website for selling products. Although I am not affiliated with them, I find that 1and1.com offer a decent hand-holding web hosting ecommerce package that is both well featreud and well priced.
