I want to make a database so when I want to order something from a vendor, I can type in the product name and quickly find the item and who we previously ordered it from. I don't now how to get this database started. Are there templates somewhere that I could use? Please help!

I currently have a PC running WinXP and an external hard drive with various files on it, including home movies (in .mpg, .mpeg, or .avi format). I'm looking at getting a MacBook Pro and am wondering if those PC files on the external HD would be recognized and usable on the MacBook (assuming the HD is FAT32 formatted)?

and when I use my XP CD to try to reinstall them it tells me that the current version of XP installed is newer than the one on the CD so installation will not continue (because of all the Windows updates, I'm sure). So now what can I do? Do a clean install and then do all the updates from scratch? Will I lose everything, or will it just copy over? Thanks.

I just opened the cd drive of this computer and put a cd in, and when i pressed the button to close it, it wouldn't close. i've been trying forever to pop it back in place or something but it won't budge. What is wrong? What can i do to fix it!? My dad is going to kill me when he sees this.

I tried restarting the computer, i heard it make a noise like it was trying to close, but remained open. So now what should i do???
Do I really need a new cd drive? How much do they cost? Please tell me what i should do!

I've created a database and simple app that allows you to do the basics (edit, add, delete etc). When I debug/run app and make changes to data, it won't save using the save button, OR save automatically on exit. I added this code to the form closing event handler but still doesn't work:

Me.AddressesBindingSource.EndEdit()
Me.AddressesTableAdapter.Update(Me.FirstDatabaseDataSet.Addresses)
