I get so angry when someone tailgates me when I have small children sitting in the rear seats (carseats). I have a "Baby On Board" sign in rear window but they still tailgate so close I can't even see their headlights..Is it againt the law to follow so close?

I was driving regulary with my friends and family in the car in the downtown area about to drop off one of my cousins after graduation. As I pass through the intersection, I saw in front of me two inches drop from the ground because of street construction. The top part of the pavement was shaved. I tried to slow down to transition but unfortunately there were a few sewer lids that stick up about 4 inches above ground level. Boom! and my car hit one of those sewer lids and motor oil was flying out of my car. Luckily nobody was hurt. After that, as I was standing waiting for the tow truck I also notice a few cars hitting those sewage lids. I am pretty pissed because they didn't put any warning signs up or what so ever.

I know the cost of repairs won't be little in this accident. I want to know how I can complain to the city or maybe get them to fix my car. Thanks a lot.

For instance, if you were stopped at a red light at a 4-way intersection about to turn left, and it wasn't a protected turn, and then the light turned green... you obviously have to yield to oncoming traffic that would be going straight.

So, what if you count to three, slowly enter the intersection, and the car that should be accelerating still isn't doing so? If you feel it's safe to proceed in front of the vehicle before it starts accelerating, as you're already well into the intersection and they're still behind the line, would you be completely in the wrong if that car finally decided to accelerate and hit you as you were over 90% completed with your turn?

What exactly DOES it mean to yield? If you feel it's safe, obviously you'll proceed after waiting, but... what if you waited, feel you have enough time to complete the turn even if the car was to begin accelerating as well, but the car going straight presses the pedal to the metal (speeds to the max!) and hits you? o_O

I've never used a car before. I'm going to apply for driver's licence. But I have to practice that streering thing. Doing it just on the roads would be crazy. Maybe there are some suitable places?

P.S. ...in Oklahoma city, if it is helpful. thanks

I have noticed one time that a neighbors car went off once and as soon as they tried to reboot the alarm from going off again, they accidently shut it off completely having the car stolen for days. Thankfully the alarm was hooked up properly but really can this deter theifs from looking at it as an opportunity?

My mom and sister have been in at least six accidents (between the two of them) in the last six years. All the accidents were the other driver's fault. I am scared of getting behind the wheel because I have no way to control the other driver's actions. Plus I myself have the ability to kill someone in one fell swoop. :( I don't know how to get around this fear, help?

It seems like each time some driver does something stupid, I look and it turns out to be a woman and she is on a cell phone! That just isn't a good combination. It's hard enough for them to just drive let alone be on a phone!

I think I get one every 3 years. How many miles over from the speeding limit do Officers generally target you for a speeding? The last two I got were 25 miles and 20 miles over, but I know some people who got a ticket just for going over 12 miles over the limit.

We know by looking at the government statistics, that over three thousand people have died trapped in their cars under wate in the last decade. We invented an inexpensive (pocket change) solution that we call the Escape Tip (www.escapetip.com) It is an effective and appropriate response to the problem. We have been trying to show it to the automakers for years. We simply can't get through to the people that make decisins.

I have taken many driving lessons and practiced before, but every time I get behind the wheel I start shaking. I have tried to ease into it and get more confident by practice, but it every time is a fresh horror. I wish I didn't have to drive at all, but it is a practical skill that I need. Any suggestions?
