When facing the car from the side, the A pillar is the roof support between the windshield and the front edge of the front door. The B pillar is the roof support between the front door and the rear door. The C pillar is the roof support at the back of the back door and next to the rear window.

My A pillar is big enough to hide a truck down the street to the right. My B pillar is big enough to hide any vehicle in the left lane. My C and D pillars are huge.

I know when I worked making car/van door window frames the front of the side window was the A, the back of the front door B, C would be the front side of the back door and D the very rear. The parts that go across the top are called headers.
