We are expecting heavy thunderstorms this afternoon, and some with possible baseball size hail. I was wondering, since my apartments don't offer any kind of protection for our cars, if I parked under a tree if that would help slow down the impact of the hail hitting my car? I know it won't stop it completely, but hopefully it won't cause as much damage. Any hints would be great. Thanks!

I know this is probably a dumb question, but I'm taking my test on the 20th of April and during the five hour course the instructor said that parallel parking and 3 point turns aren't the complete tests. Then my mother says that hitting a curb is an accident and you'll fail automatically but when she took it (and failed five times, mind you) she never had the point system that we have now in NYS - not using a blinker is five points off, running a stop sign is 55 points, you can only get 30 points at most before you fail...

And I was just wondering if I did hit it but managed to do everything else right (because that's the one thing I always mess up) if I'd pass.

My main concern is compensation for repairs that need to be made. The driver was borrowing the vehicle, and not the owner of the car. The driver was also not listed on the insurance information. Will the insured vehicle owner's policy still pay for my claim based on the fact that someone not on the policy as well as not having a license?

Over 4 mos my mother had 3 transactions through a car dealership, totaling over 75000.00 in financing. The first car has not been registered or tagged (purchased in December). The second car has been registered and tagged (purchased in February). The third car is still sitting on the dealers lot (purchased in March). My mother's credit is not in the best standings and she lives on a fixed income. Does this sound deceptive in anyway to anyone? What would be her possible outcome?? What should be her next step in resolving this?

I'm going backpacking in Denali this summer for 2 weeks. The cost of a rental car in AK is ridiculous due to state , municpal and airport fees. Since I am extremely cheap, I thought about buying a very cheap junker and driving it for 2 weeks then either giving it away or taking it to a salvage yard. I was looking on craigslist and a lot of the cars listed say that the tags or emissions are good until a certain date. So here is the question. Do the tags follow a car in Alaska like they do in some other states? In other words if I bought a car with valid plates could I get away with driving it for 2 weeks?

I made a judgement call and went during the amber like I tend to do rather than braking hard(40 mph speed limit). I want to go see the judge. The officer will not have any evidence and I didn't see any red as I past under to the best of my knowledge. I didn't even realize that I was being pulled over and for what for. Anybody have any suggestions.

I am very nervous about taking my road test. I dont feel very confident infact I am scared. I have been in a car accident 10 years ago standing at the bus stop and when I see cars turn by me, or speed it makes me scared. I want to get my liscense but I am so scared. I called a driving school and the guy told me to come in and take my 5 hour class then we will schedule a road test. I felt shocked because I thought they would schedule a road test when you are atleast confident and they know you know how to drive. I really wanted to see if I like how he instructed me because I had one instructor who I drove with a few times but when my bf came in the car with me that is when he told me what I had to do to pass the test- Things I did the first day was suddenly wrong and he corrected them. So I am very nervous I dont want to be wasting my money anymore. What should I do?

Hi,

I have a brand new car hauler tailer with LED lights. I have a GMC Yukon with the round (7 pin I think) plug. I noticed when I got home that the right rear two tail lights are still dimmly on. All other lights are off. This is with my car off, parked, and sitting in my driveway. I had to unplug the trailer from the Yukon to get the right rear red taillights to go off.

I have another trailer with regular lights. I have never seen the right rear dimly on when the car is off.

I have to figure it's in the car. For some reason one power wire must still be hot when the car is off or have a tad bit of juice to it. Any ideas? Is there a tester I should buy?

Thanks,
Steve
