I am sick of dealing with poor American quality, and I'm going to buy a new car. I'm considering the Honda Civic Si, Acura RSX, Scion Tc, and the Mitsubishi Eclipse. Does anyone have any information as to how these cars compare as far as quality and features go? Which car would you buy and why??

So the question is why is age discrimination so allowed in the automotive business? im 21 have 5 ASE's(engine performance,HVAC,electrical, brakes, steering and suspension) and am 21. Now I realize that the motto seems to be if your young you don't know squat. And while I have seen people my age who are awesome mechanics and some who are terrible they all end up on the lube rack. I have worked at some jobs where the head techs were really smart and other times you wonder how they became a head tech. Why won't Auto shop give young people a chance instead of just have them do oil changes until they are 30 and let all they learned in trade school go to waste ?

So, I've taken the info my answerers have helpfully given me :) and I'm trying to make sense of it all with these little questions!

The BEST way to Stop: Press the clutch down completely and then the brake OR do I start doing both at the same time, making sure that the clutch goes down completely before the brake pedal does?

Starting: Keep the clutch down, let off the brake, switch that right foot to the gas, and as I press the gas down, let off the clutch easily starting both actions at the same time, OR should I do one before the other: like press the gas a little first and THEN let off the clutch? I just want to know the best way :(

BY ALL MEANS, (and sorry for using all caps, but) PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG ON ANY OF THIS.

Starting up again if I'm on a Hill or Incline: Actually, I have no clue whatsoever what's the best way to do this, so if you can help me, I appreciate the help! Really though, thanks everyone :)

I started my car and noticed the check engine light on. I've never seen this light before so I'm very concerned. I got to my destination and noticed that the gas cap was not screwed on tight and the gas door was ajar. I tightened it but the light stayed on. The car is still under the factory warrenty, but I can't bring it in for 2 more days. Is it safe to drive? How can I tell if that infact is the reason for the light?

and I have some questions...

How is the BEST WAY to start up again after stopping? And also, what is the best way to stop in the first place? I've basically been stepping on the clutch and brake at the same time, but which one should be put down first? Sorry if I'm sounding stupid right now asking these questions, but it's because I need help!

Basically, I really need to know the best way to stop the car (like say, I get to a stop sign/ light), and then what is the best way to start up again and get going. I never know what to push down when, and if like one should go before the other or something...

also, if anyone knows how to explain to me how to know when to change gears, I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much for any help anyone can give me! really!

I have a 1994 Ford Ranger with a 4.0L v6 and I want to make it louder, but my dad says that it will probably sound more like a rice racer than anything else. I doubt that, and I have been looking on the internet for a while now and every where I go there's a forum with all these people speaking in what seems like a foreign language. I just want an answer in plain English. I don't have a lot of money to work with as I just bought a 28" snow blower and there hasn't been a damn inch of snow.

When you have someone behind you that has their high beams on, and you can't see, sometimes there are the little flippy knob things and it moves the mirror so the light isn't in your eye, how does that work when it doesn't look like the mirror moved?

I drive a mercedes Ml and yes it is a petrol guzzler . But really I cant imagine that bothers anyone but me . I mean no-else pays for my trips to the petrol station . Nor do they pay the extra car tax I have to pay . I am a very capable driver and dont drive like my car is a tank and i dont think I own the road . I have and ML, as I have two kids , a dog and a cleaning co so a large car is a neccessity, Plus they are much more attractive and more fun to drive . So why do people get soo wound up about 4x4 , if you dont like them dont buy one ?
