Loads of people hate 4X4's, I know that, but why do they pick on them? My Discovery is no bigger than my last car, an Espace. It uses the same amount of fuel per mile. Lots of 4X4's are small cars, which wouldn't get far off road (BMW X3, X5, soft roaders etc) but their owners like them. Now my point is if you accept that some 4X4's are smaller and do more mpg than some 4X2's, and produce less polution why does nobody complain about 4X2's that are big, heavy on fuel produce high pollution? A Rolls Royce is much bigger and thirstier than most 4X4's, and so are many other 'normal' cars, but no complaints. This negates the arguement.
