No. See if your AWD can follow my 4 wheel drive jeep into the woods ;-) AWD drives normally one set of wheels then transfers power to the other axle when needed. 4 wheel drive drives both axles at the same rate when engaged.

AWD usally means full time where as 4wd allows driver to enguage system with button or locking hubs
