I moved categories for this one.
I'm going to do some steering/suspension work on an E-type; a four-wheel alignment and a tune and balance for its 72-spoke wheels. The problem is the wheels are chrome knockoffs, and I can't find any information on how to properly re-torque them when I get them back on the car.
I have the Jaguar factory service manual, but it says nothing beyond "remove road wheels" for any procedure. According to the manual, the torque spec for the wheels is 50-60 lbs.ft., but from what I've read on various forums, I'm having a hard time believing it.
Can some of you British car lovers help me out?
