Sorry, Falgoonit, the F1 is no longer the fastest production car ever built. That honour now goes to the Bugatti Veyron 16.4, which, incidentally, I would buy if money were no object, the styling is absolutely gorgeous!
Specs as follows:
Bugatti Veyron 16.4; 0-60 time: 2.5 seconds, top speed: 253 mph (406 kph), net rating: 1001 bhp and 923 lb-ft of torque @ 2,200-5,500 rpm
MClaren F1; 0-60: 3.4 seconds, top speed: 231 mph (372 kph), net rating: 627 bhp and 479 lb-ft of torque @ 4,000 rpm.

A 1957 Ferrari 250 GT. God what a beautiful car. But even though money is no object, I'd have a hell of a time finding someone who would want to sell there's. I think there are only like 25 left so they're pretty rare.

I would get a car that has responsible gas mileage.
Money is of no object, and I won't buy anything that gets lower than 30 mpg. Doing so is unpatriotic, and while it is well within your Rights to do so, that doesn't make it RIGHT.
I'd rather spend the money on a nice home, or a pet project, than waste it on a depreciating asset that contributes to our dependence on oil.

My heart belongs to the Jaguar series III E-type v12 and the Ferrari 288 GTO.
There will never, ever be anything like the E-type or the mid-80's series Ferraris again.
I've had the privilege of hearing a 288 GTO--and that v8 in fifth gear is one of the sexiest sounds on the planet earth. As for the E-type, I've driven one before, and fallen absolutely in love with it.
Fat chance of me owning either, though. :)

I would buy the 2004 McClaren F1. It is the fastest street legal car ever built. Even though some people thing you can compare the Cobra with it. Its impossible to compare any car with it. It leaves the competition in the dust. Mind you it takes a lot of concentration to control it, and since the steering is in the middle of the car you have to get used to driving it first.

I'd have a collection, I could never pick!:
1997 L.E. Twin Turbo Supra (always been mydream car)
Original Hummer (not the stupid girly H2 or H3)
Yukon Denali Fully Loaded (soccer mom car)
Diablo
Viper
Vette
Mini (mostly cos I think they're cute)
I'd need to build a large garage too!
