I bought a 1987 Plymouth Caravelle for $900, I've put over 25000 km on it in less then a year, and the car had 200 000km on it when i bought it, it still runs great, very reliable.

definetly, all used car dealers, new car dealers etc, are always trying to make room for new inventory, so shop around, don't kjust go to one place, because you might find the same car at another place that you liked at a different place for less money, the biggest thing is to just keep looking till you find one that will make you happy, and buy it, but make sure it is from a reputable dealer, and not some fly by night scam artist.

Toyota
Honda
Saturn
Kia

Maybe a Hyundai.
Why buy a new car? As soon as it's bought it drops $5k. Many used cars are nice, and sometimes better.
My cousin bought a new sebring and within a week it broke down. Sucks he didn't buy a warranty.

A new car? Absolutely not! But an excellent older one? Yes, depending on what you're talking about.
You can find a nice Jaguar XJ6 or XJS for about $10,000.
