I'm sorry but all of you, really need to re-evaluate your definitions of reliable and sporty. A Honda insight is the least sporty vehicle to ever crawl across the face of the earth, and a Pontiac Sunfire is the biggest pile of junk to roll on four wheels since..well you get the point. What is affordable? Affordable to me is less than 30k, in which case I would choose a used 2004 Subaru STI. Sporty (286 AWHP is sporty), good looking, 4 doors, practical.

the honda insight. it's sleek and sporty. it has many standard features that would be options on other cars. it weighs less than a ton, and is easy to park. you can find a used model with some diligence for around $9000, maybe less. it can deliver over 80 miles per gallon.

The 1969 MGB GT. One of the coolest and most simplistic cars, EVER. I could wrench on it with half my tool box and never feel the lack. Cheap and plentiful parts, good on gas, and a blast to drive. What more could you ask?

Go for a mini cooper. Reason why, it saves more gas even though it has a strong engine... plus you can park anywhere because of its reliable size. Also, its stylish even though you wont set it up with fancy accessories.

in case you like a used vehicle, you are able to in all likelihood get a rather intense-high quality vehicle, say like a Mercedes, BMW, and so on for basically 20,000. New vehicle, relies upon on your budget, besides, Lancer's rather cool or Mustang.

Pontiac Firefly. GM vehicle, cheap to buy, cheap to run, cheap to fix, cheap on gas, cheap to insure, and simple mechanics, so its easy to fix by yourself too. And it still gets you from point A to point B in the same amount of time, thanks to speed limits!!
Geo metro, suzuki swift, chevy sprint are all the same car, all made by GM.

Toyota or Honda, I must say. You can usually drive them way over 200,000 miles. They priced pretty correct.
