My 99 Civic heats up, 3/4 way, when I stop at a red light or traffic...but only after ive been driving for over 30minutes. Once I start going again it goes back down or I turn my heater on to help it cool off and it works. Today my check engine light came on. Anyone know why this might be??

I recently have been burning a lot of oil, ecspecially when I accelerate from a stop I get a big cloud behind me. The car has always burned a lot of oil even though the heads and valves were done last year. I did just shorten the intake pipe to make the air filter more accesable, but I doubt thats it. I also did put in some fuel injector cleaner in about a week ago. Any thoughts? Is this serious, or should I just get a prelude?

My car sucks! I have put so much money into this beast because I am a student and cannot afford a new car until I graduate or I win the lottery...so I have to maintain it.

It stalled while I was driving down the road. So I walked home because it is only a couple of blocks from where I live. I went back a couple of hours later and it started! I got it home, got ready to go to the store and it wouldn't start. It is turning over but not starting up. I just recently got the fuel pump and fuel filter replaced on it. It is still acting up!
I had someone take a look at it for me and they said they couldn't hear the fuel pump turn on when I try starting it. He said it may be the wiring to it or a relay switch? Anybody have any other idea what is causing this?

I was wondering if my first recall switch has gone bad, after dealer replaced it 100,000 mi or so ago. If the recall would uphold the recall the second time?

And provide me with "free" inspection of this switch...

I'm in the market for a 2005 Honda Accord EX V-6 coupe with around 30-45K miles on it, and I found a price from KBB (Kelley Blue Book) for around $20-21K. However, Honda World in Westminster, California is selling it for around $18K. If anyone can think of a better price, please let me know. =)

I want the following options for this car, too:

Leather Seats
GPS Navigation System
CD Player (Multi or Single works either way for me)
Cigarette Lighter (No, I don't smoke; I want it to plug in my phone)
Leather wrapped steering wheel

Anyone who lives in the OC in California, can you help especially? Thanks. =)

I live in an area which gets lake effect snow but the roads are not that bad most of the time because of the constant snow removal. I have done some research and here's what I found: Goodyear Fortera, Dayton Timberline HT, BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO. A treadwear warranty of more than 50K, at least a 400 rating, max load over 1900, speed rating of S or T. Please provide your comments and recommendations. Thanks.

when it shuts off, I can literally touch the key and it will come back on. Also, Sometimes, the car key must be held in to start the car, i can hear it click or catching then i can start it, if i don't wait for catch, the car will just get a low idle and shut off..Sometimes the car wont even fire up at all...I have no idea where to start and can't afford a dealership looking at every possible thing...any ideas??? I'm trying to change the timing belt. Questions: When looking at the engine from the crank pulley side, which way does the engine turn? I am having all kinds of difficulty removing the crank pulley bolt. I've used a cheater bar, and broke my socket extension instead. Bought a 220lbs-ft impact wrench, and the bolt is not breakig lose at all. The cylinder head is currently off, so I don't think i should use engine torque to losen the bold, as I'm not even sure which way the motor turns. Help, please!!! Thank you in advance!!!

I recently bought a '95 Honda Accord for my daughter. It looks and runs great, but at low RPM's it seems to have a bit of a vibration. Is this normal? If not, can it be cured by adjusting idle speed a bit higher, or is there another solution?

Many years ago we had a '92 Accord, that behaved the same way, but I would have thought that they would have cured it before 1995. What is the opinion of those of you who are knowledgable about these cars?

By the way, it's a California car with 166 K miles, and has an automatic transmission.+
