I live in an area which gets lake effect snow but the roads are not that bad most of the time because of the constant snow removal. I have done some research and here's what I found: Goodyear Fortera, Dayton Timberline HT, BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO. A treadwear warranty of more than 50K, at least a 400 rating, max load over 1900, speed rating of S or T. Please provide your comments and recommendations. Thanks.

I myself am not a fan of many tires out there. Most are hard compound, don't give good traction when its needed, etc. Specially with a SUV and being top heavy, sometimes that extra bite is really needed in an emergency type move.

I prefer Michelin or Pirelli. Most think these are all high price tires. Here is a search I ran on www.tirerack.com for those two makes and your CR-V.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compare1.jsp?width=215%2F&ratio=65&diameter=16&autoYear=2006&diameter=16&sortCode=45450&minLoad=S&ratio=65&autoMake=Honda&autoModClar=&minSpeedRating=S&width=215%2F&autoModel=CR-V&vehicleSearch=true&startIndex=0&search=true&pagelen=20&pagenum=1&pagemark=1&manufacturer=Michelin&manufacturer=Pirelli&speed_rating=S&speed_rating=T&RunFlat=None&x=58&y=10

All in the $80-$100 range, same price range as most other tires. And both of these makes are great in all weather. I myself have had 3 sets of the Pirelli's and they are great in the snow. I would recommend the Pirelli P4 all season or any of the Michelin all season.

Tire Rack has the best selection and you can get the specs on your original equipment tires and compare them to bout a dozen other brands. they also have owners surveys where Owners of vehicles rate the various tire brands and models in real world conditions. Go to the garage and save you CRV EX and you can be notified of sales on tires , custom wheels etc. they even have a feature where you put in say your car, and if they have a picture of it You can change wheels and see what they look like before you buy.

I don't know, it just came out and not enough data is available. The previous models, I would say is OK car. 2000 models had valve gap tightening up problem. And don't see the logic in using timing belt for SUV. Nosier, but timing chain should be used on cars like this. Is 4 WD, but is automatic 4WD - which kicks in when computer sees the need. Ok, then how the heck do I know if it is working properly?

go to www.discounttires.com and enter car info it will list several tires as well as sizes and price ranges but you need to keep in mind that if your not into driving fast all the time you do not need a speed rated tire t is for traction / touring - s is for speed rated tires, pick what best fits your car and your pocket.

What is really important is that if one of your new tires goes out, how easy is it to get a replacement tire. It is ideal to get the same exact replacement. I would think it would be easiest to get replacement Goodyears. Good luck.

For maximum results, use the round ones. A much smoother ride, and the wear patterns are more consistent.
