there was a man i found on youtube that he basicly straped some metal wings and a few jets on the wings, jumped from a plane and flew streight (sometimes up) for 5 minuets. Do you think that this is a practical invention or is it some silly one that will have people falling form the sky every day?
Personaly i think its a practical one.

(currently he is making one that flys for 10 minuets, flys faster than 100mph and can do acrobatics and trying to manage take off )

here's the link btw

I got a homework problem,

Consider a turbojet in an airplane flying at standard sea level conditions with a velocity of 800 ft/s. The pressure ratio across the compressor is 12.5:1. The fuel to air ratio is .05. The nozzle exhausts flow to ambient pressure. Find the temperature of the exhaust. Assuming that the air in the diffuser is slowed to a very low velocity before entering the compressor and the heat released per pound of fuel is 1.4x10^7 ft lb/lbm.

Sea level conditions are :
temperature =518.69 degrees R
pressure = 2116.2 lb/sq ft

I have always wanted to hang glide and I am hoping that I could get some info from someone that knows about it.

1. Typically, How much are the lessons and how long does it commonly take to learn how to fly on your own?

2. Are there rules on when, were, how high you can fly, etc. like they have for aircrafts?

3. Do you have to get a license or ratings to fly a hang glider?

4. How much does a hang glider cost?

5. How long can you normally stay up?

Sorry about all of the questions but if you could answer any of them or give me a link that would help me out.

I'm currently looking for a headset. I would like the bose x set, and was wondering if anyone here has a set. Are they actually worth the $1149? I know they'll be good, but does it justify the price?

I've borrowed a pair of David Clarke X11's, and they were ok, but for the money ($900 or so), they weren't that great.

But I'd like to know about the Bose set, and thanks in advance.

I was looking at Etihad Airways career website, & I saw that they have vacancies for over 1200 employees left !
Anyway, I'm thinking of applying for it, but I'm not quite sure what Cabin crew really means .... You know ...
What do they do ? Is it ground base jobs or as an attendant up flying with the passengers to different places.

Anybody hear anything about the Type of aircraft that crashed at CRQ? I'm a pilot, but i'm looking on flight aware, and can't seem to find the plane that went down. It had to be on an IFR flight plane, considering that it was almost 0/0. About 1/8 vis. The only thing i can think of is that he was an IFR to VFR on top clearance, but even, then, i have only seen a picture of the tail, with reference to a person walking, and it seems like it was a jet. maybe a Citation? like i said, anybody know anything i don't know?

OK. I can fly at my own since I was 14. So I buy a plane, I fly it, fly it for money, fly it in the night, fly it as I want :)
Who is gonna punish me for not having flight training, medical licenses and all this stuff. After all, I'm my own boss :P
