Will the fact that it's a VLA affect my license(will I be restricted to the VLA class?)?
What about a LSA? Can I train in order to get a PPL using a Light Sport Aircraft?
Thanks a lot for answering!

you can use the indicated aircraft to get your license in, as long as it has flown the required minimum number of hours(40 i think) to prove the aircraft is in fact air worthy. the only way you can do that is have someone fly the hours for you. you can also use the aircraft for flight training, if you can find an instructor willing to take you on as a student in that aircraft.

If you are asking about an "Ultra-Light"...which is essentially a hang glider with an engine attached to it.

No you can not...incidentally, if it has less than a 10 litre(?) tank, you don't even need a pilot's license to fly it.

If it is not an ultra-light, and you have completed the course work and required flight time with an instructor, then I don't see why you shouldn't be able to solo in it.

The only restriction I can personally think of is you might be restricted to single engine aircraft.
