I heard this statistic from a movie but I also recalled hearing about it in school. Does anyone know if this is fact? If it is, it's kept low keyed for a reason! Can you imagine flying knowing that there are at least three on board somewhere on the plane?

These two guys were on their first flight and watching everything going on. A little red truck pulls up and fills the gas tanks. The plane takes off and after an hour or so, lands and a little red truck pulls up and fills the gas tanks. Plane takes off, after an hour or so, same thing, red truck pulls up, is filing the gas tanks. So, one of the guys says, " Boy, were making pretty good time" And the other guy says, "Yah, and that little red truck ain't doing bad either!"

I know this information is in the POH and trust me I would consult it before ever doing it. But I'm at home and the POH is in the airplane, and I'm curious and I guess impatienant.

You know how on some planes the guns shoot bullets straight through the propeller while flying. How do they keep the bullets from hitting the propeller? Please give me a website if you can. Thanks!

I need to know a flight that is curved, say so it goes around the north pole, to be quicker than a "straight line".

When an airliner lands which is the primary funtion of the spoilers, to dump lift or airbraking or both.

Is that the reason why they are called spoilers?

Is the air braking effect just an added result of their position in the airflow.

I watched this seconds from disater thing, and it seems like if you have a fire on the aircraft you are totally F**ked!
you may as well kiss your sorry *** goodbye.

So why not automatic foam sprinklers?

Also, can u believe that smoking used to be allowed on planes??? thats Crazy!

It would be used to test pilots. I am looking for a simple game, software or any program that will test this. I've heard of a test where you are supposed to fly (guide) a cursor or box along a line that changes direction.

When do the tires of an airliner take the most punishment, at take off or landing?

A lot of people would answer at landing but I think it might be at take off. At take off the aircraft is fully fueled and at it's max weight. At the moment of rotation when the front gear lifts the entire weight of the airframe is transfered into the main gear.
