Seriously, these local carriers did an excellent job of providing dependable service to places which weren't served by anybody else. I remember Agony Airlines,
Philadelphia to Boston with only two stops for directions, which ones do you remember??

After attending schools like Midway Aviators, Phoenix East, or any others like that?
I keep hearing that YOU need college degree+3-4000 flight hours to be hired by any major companies and/or Airlines <
Will the Coast Guard , or Air National Guard be interested in a Pilot from those(or similar) schools ,,,,, maybe the P.A.C.????
I'm kicking the Idea of Army Warrant Officer Pilot training, BUT I don't want to go to war , and I definitely don't want to kill anyone ..... Help Protect the HOME (U.S.) from within the borders, shores, or do some Search and Rescue, now that is a great way to earn a paycheck ...+ Talk about job satisfaction!!!!
I would like to hear from people who have or had experience in this sort of thing?!

>>>>Thank You all for good answers in advance!!!!!!!

Boeing and Airbus are looking to the future and the prospects of a huge future market for the replacement for todays 737 and A320 aircraft which have become the backbone of most fleets around the world. The aircraft would no doubt be all composit. To me it seems like Boeing at this time seems more likely to be in a position to be first. Airbus will no doubt follow suit.

Here's an excerp from an article in FLIGHT magazine.

Looking beyond the A350, Hess has his sights fixed on the glittering prospect of the Airbus and Boeing narrowbody replacement programmes. The two aircraft manufacturers continue to circle one another like wary boxers, and the Hamilton Sundstrand president wouldn’t be surprised if one of them made a sudden move in the next couple of years. And that, he believes, would galvanise the systems suppliers into a bidding frenzy.

“That’s the market everybody in the industry is lusting after, given the delivery rates and volumes these aircraft will generate,”

The Lockheed F-117A Nighthawk is a stealth ground attack aircraft flown solely by the United States Air Force. As a product of the Lockheed Have Blue stealth prototype program, it became the first operational aircraft initially designed around stealth technology.

The F-117A was widely publicized during the Gulf War. The Air Force has been trying to retire the F-117, due mainly to the deployment of the more effective F-22 Raptor. The Air Force is planning to retire the F-117 from October 2006 to 2008,[3][4] and no new pilots will be trained to fly the plane

I work for the police department; therefore, I can takea ride-along with the PD helicopter and check out what they do and go after bad guys! So I was really excited about that. But a co-worker of mine just went up with them and she said that it was like riding a rollercoaster for 2 hours! :o\ She said she wasnt too worried about it being up so high, but more worried about it making quick turns. She said she got a kinda of sick feeling in her stomach.

I'm ok when I go on planes, except if there is a lot of turbulence. But even then, i dont throw up. Do you think I will be ok for 2 hours on the helicopter? what if i take motion sickness pills beforehand? Any other tips/suggestions???

I really wanna go up, but not if im gonna be sick. ill never have this opportunity again though! :o\

I've read that Boeing has begun talks with American and Delta about future orders for the 787 Dreamliners. The 787s composit fusilage looks like it comes off the production line a kind of muddy brown color. Is it likely that American will opt for a silver paint job to match the rest of their unpainted polished metal fleet?

It was something about the control tower saying the specific altitude in meters but the other guy thought it was in feet; Or vise-versa, something like that.

In a certain flight crew, the positions of pilot, copilot and flight engineer are held by Peter, Harry and Frodo, though not necessarily in that order. The copilot, who is an only child, earns the least. Frodo, who married to Harry's sister, earns more than the pilot.

Whenever I execute an ILS landing, the plane's main and nose wheels are never exactly aligned with the runway markings (they are supposed to).

I am NOT a real pilot, just a PC pilot who is hooked onto Flight Simulator.

I'm interested in moving into a career in the aviation industry. I'm looking to do something other than pilot an airplane. Does anyone know of resources available to research the field? What sort of opportunties are there in the aviation industry? I'm specifically interested in working within an airport environment.

Thanks.

"If an engine fails at the moment of rotation a 737 can take off safely unlike the A320" I've heard this statement from a flight instructor whose a staunch fan of Boeing! Do you think it's true? Subjective answers are unwelcomed, I like both Airbus and Boeing!

Its for a Zenith STOL CH 701. Performance listed as: 90 feet takeoff roll, 140 feet landing roll, ROC 1100 ft per minute. How long would you think for the actual grass strip and distances to high obstacles (trees) I have about 600ft I can do easily, 1200 will require a good bit of earth moving. Any opinions? www.zenithair.com Thanks
