Believe it or not we actually do take crash courses. Every six months we fly a simulator for a week and are faced with about every emergency that you can think of. Many of these "flights" end up in a controlled crash such as when one landing gear will not extend. And of course, if we've had a little too much to drink in the hotel bar the night before, some of those crashes are not so controlled.

I have taken several crash-courses. Most didn't involve a real crash. One involved a big swimming pool and was very scary.
