on an airplane the flieght attendants point with 2 fingers instead of 1 why?

Only 1 finger is considered 'giving someone the finger' Rude, 2 fingers more visible 10 rows back to see where the emergency exits are,should you ever need to use them.

Probably so that no one will think that the stewardess is pointing at them in particular. To avoid confusion about that when pointing out things in the cabin during their demonstration and so forth.
