Say between city A and city B, is the flight plan pre-determined and the pilot simply follows the map going up or down and turning left or right? Or, is it that at every point during the course after takeoff the pilot is guided by the ATCs about the altitude and direction: left, right, up & down to take to reach the destination?

The problem I think for him is he doesn't have full purifial vision. He can see strait ahead and to the side of his left eye. However, he cannot see out the side of his right eye. He can only see ahead of him in his right eye. How does this effect him in airlines as a pilot? Can he still fly? Could he be a copilot and just work on operating buttons but not acually have to fly the plane for full time? Or if he can't fly an airline plane can he fly a smaller aircraft?

A supersonic Concorde aircraft crashed on take off at Charles De Gaulle Airport, Paris, France in July 2000, the aircraft were all withdrawn from service recently. Would you still want to fly on the Jet ( if you could afford it ) even if they had not been withdrawn from commercial passenger service ?

Wasn't Segway just about enough ?.

How's any traffic of this type liable to be policed ?

Anti-aircraft ordinance ?

And if assorted weirdos on foot sufficent reason to emigrate to Antartica, where are we gonna go now ?

I'm serious ?

I've just got off a flight from Birmingham to Edinburgh. Considering this flight is mostly overland (if you forget the Firth of Forth), it seems strange that at least half of the safety briefing is about how to put the lifejacket on.

So while there are lots of statistics about how many plane crashes there are and how safe air travel is, I would like to know how many lives have ever been saved by those yellow life jackets? I'll bet it's very few.

An Airbus A330 Flight from Canada lost almost all of its fuel about 300 miles from landing in Portugal. 150 approx miles from landing, it had lost all engine power. The Pilots decided to divert to the nearest airport on an Island, they flew the Jet on auxilliary power "gliding" all the way & landed on the airport runway bursting all the tyres as they landed. All the 200+ passengers & crew got off safely ! "Superb Aircraft" or "Super Pilot Skills", your comments please !
