How bad is that?

Never seen lichens, but I've seen lots of mold. I do recall a 747 being scrapped because of mold. It had been stored in Shannon, Ireland for several months with one of the upper deck doors not fully closed. Rainwater got in, ran down into the main cabin and on into the lower lobe, and there was mold everywhere: in the interior, in the insulation, in the wiring--everywhere. The determination was made that the cleanup would be so expensive, and being an old airplane as well, that it was more cost-effective to part out the airplane and scrap it rather than clean out all the mold.

If I remember correctly, the registration was N624FF; the 'FF' stuck in my mind, because of the nickname the mechanics gave it, 'Fuzzy Freddy' (except it wasn't 'Freddy', of course, mechanics being mechanics).

No, if I did I would think twice about flying on that airline.
