On there IRS Website where you can check the status of your refund, it states that my refund was direct deposited into my account on April 20th, 2007.

My refund has not shown up on my bank rec. There are also no deposits pending. I checked the numbers on the forms I mailed in and the routing an account numbers are correct.

Payroll direct deposits do not take this long to post, so why would this direct deposit take so long? Any ideas?

Ok, so I am now being audited by the IRS due to a mistake that an investment company made when I cashed in on my 401K a couple years ago, For tax year 2005 I never received a 1099 for the disbursement, and when we called, they had the wrong address still listed. After multiple times we finally got the check, but no 1099. On the stub of the check it had the total amount, and texes, etc., so it allowed us to file our taxes.

Well, now it comes to find out that we claimed over 4k in taxes on the federal side, but it appears as if it was split between Federal and Massachusetts. Now they say we owe the IRS about 3k. I believe this amount may have gone to Massachusetts, even though we do not live there anymore, nor had we for the entire year. Florida does not have state taxes so we should not owe this amount.

Any ideas on what we can do to rectify this? Is it even possible to get the money back that was paid incorrectly to Mass?

I know that a student loan place can put a withholding against your taxes (and they'll take them), but the question I have is are they allowed to take ALL of your return? Or can they just touch the actual taxes withheld from your check? I'm asking because I'm not sure if I would still get my earned income credit.

Hi,
I received "1099" for few months of work done in California as contractor, I used to commute from Florida every week to work as contractor in California.

Do I owe income tax to Cal State in this case.

Am I considered as part year resident, even though I had no residence address in california.

Please advise.

He wants to be able to get self employed health insurance and you need to have an income of more than 10K a year. How would we save the most thru jointly or separately? NY, USA

Thanks in advance.

I was going to file for an extension but it said that all monies owed had to be in by April 17th which is stupid...I mean why else would you file for an extension? I'm just worried. what do we do? He filed his taxes and he was owed like $500 and then it came back and said the IRS rejected it and now he OWES $900. He did it on turbo tax. Thanks!!
