I have gross income about $9000 on my first job. Then about $4000 on my 2nd job during past year. When I was filing tax info online, I have $1077 tax refund from my first job. After I key in 2nd w-2 info for my 2nd job, I got less refund: $1055.
If caculate them separately, I got $1077 on from my first job, $355 on my second job. Total I should get should be 1077+355=1432. Is there something wrong?

A major company in the United States has a big branch office in California. They posted for a position that required the applicant to be a Nevada resident. A friend of mine who lives in Reno applied and got the job. He has been a Nevada resident for 30 years; there is no Nevada State tax. He is doing Nevada specific work. He follows applicable Nevada rules for hourly employees regarding straight time and overtime. He doesn't travel out of Nevada. He told me this company deducted California State taxes from his paycheck. Is that legal? If not, can I advise my friend to get an exemption from someplace?

I inherited a bunch of stocks when my grandfather passed away in 2003 and I sold them all and did not report them on my tax return. The IRS is now saying I owe them thousands of dollars. I have proof that I sold the stocks at less value than I got them for. What do I file, how do I file, what do I do?

I thought I had all my W2s and 1099s or whatever. I filled out my taxes online at TaxCut, and I haven't mailed them in yet. Should I re-do my taxes to include the $52 in student loan interest that I received after I prepared my taxes? I already paid the $24.95 to file my Massachusetts State Taxes. Is this going to mess up my refund?

I recently lost my W2 form. I left it in a folder at school...and when I went to go back to get the folder a few days later - it was gone. Is there any way I can get another form? Should I be worried that someone might have my W2 (Identity theft...etc.)

Thank you and I appreciate your help.

I used to work for a company early last year for a couple of months and I still haven't gotten my W2. I've tried contacting them at least twice and they've said they had sent it out 2 weeks ago(which I should have already received by now). I also live at the same address. 2 attempts of trying to verify my address to them and I still haven't received it. What would be reasons employers don't send the W2's?

I worked for a company for a week for a fee of $1000.Ijust got my W2 and it stated I worked independently for them. When I filed my taxes I was charged extra for not telling them I worked independtly for that time(becouse I did not know I did).My check was for $600 becouse they took taxes out.So my question is.Why did they take taxes out when I was independant and should have paid the taxes myself? Is the company screwing me over?
