I'll be filling taxes for the first time. I'm a student and I work part-time. I only made a little over 5,000 and was wondering how much should I expect to get back?

It depends on how much was withheld. You're in the lowest bracket and your standard deduction is $5,150, so you should expect to get all, or nearly all, of your withholdings back.

While I know it's exciting to get a refund, if this is your situation this year, you should not have anything withheld from your pay. You're just giving Uncle Sam a tax free loan.

You get back everything that was withheld from your wages. Which will be in box 2 of your W-2's. Plus, if you've had a phone in your name for which you've had long distance anytime between 2003-2006, you'll get a $30 credit for those.

If your parents are not claiming you as a dependent, then you will probably get all income tax refunded. If they are, then you will not be able to get a refund of all your taxes.
