I was just wondering, alot of people just coming out of college have huge amount of debt and arent ready to start contributing to a IRA or a retirement plan but we have huge amounts of debt, is there a way we can divert money into a plan to help us pay off our debt faster that is tax free? similar to the way you can divert money into a tax free investment/retirement?

... uses or withdraws the money?

I assume this often pops up where an elderly and an adult child share a bank account. The elderly parent, assuming they are in a solid financial situation, may decide to allow the child to use funds from the account.

Would the withdrawals be viewed as a "gift" by the IRS for tax purposes?

I have used TaxAct, TurboTax, and RapidTax. All of them won't let me claim my oldest child which is only 8.
They give me a desent amount for the first child a tiny bit for the second child and nothing for the third child. I am well under the income bracket to qualify for the full credit on all three. Any Ideas?

I live in Houston,TX and will be out of the country when the taxes are being done.

1.
Are there any website(s) that I can go on to,to still do my taxes ONLINE?

2.
Me being a PERMANENT RESIDENT,
NOT a US citizen yet,
are there any form(s) in particular that I need to file?

3.
If this will be too difficult to do,
do they sometimes do exceptions and let you do your taxes a bit later?
I have heard that it's possible to get an extention on the due or so,is this correct?
If so,how long would that be?

It may sound od,but I don't know since I'm not from here!

Thanks in advance!

Can the adults split the responsibility any way that they want to? Or must it be split 50% - 50%?

Won't the bank issue a 1099-INT that only has one adult's name on it?

I have been a UK expatriate for approximately 8 years, spending no more than 8 weeks in the UK over that period. I will be returning to the UK this year for a short period, no more than 3 months before returning oversees, and will be living in my PPR which was previously on a long term lease. Can I purchase unit trusts in the UK? Will I be liable for any tax in the years to come if I am still an expatriate?
Thanks

So i let my friend use my ebay account and now i have to file income taxes because he has made a payoff of over $2100. I also have financial aid that's $11,000 a year. Will this affect my financial aid? I'm really concerned because i was doing my friend a favor and now there might be some trouble. Are we technically partners on ebay or is it an individual selling market? Please I need serious answers.

does anyone know about the new tax thing this year? Where we can not file taxes until like april or something like that? Does that mean what we work in jan feb and march will all go on our 2007 tax return or on 2008? my roommate told me he heard something about it on the news the other day. I'm looking forward to my tax return in like jan or feb, and this has me a little freaked. if anyone knows about this or has even heard anything about it, please let me know asap. thank u very much.
