It depends upon the complexity of the original return and the amount of work needed for the amendment. If you just forgot a Form W-2 on the original return, most of the storefront tax prep mills would probably charge less than $100. A CPA might run between $150 and $200. If you have a complicated return and need to amend complex portions of it, it could easily run over $1,000 for a CPA. I would not trust a complex return to the storefront tax prep mills though.

It could range anywhere from 50-300 dollars depending on if you went to a Tax Business such as HR Block or an accountant. You can always do it for free if you live near an IRS office. They usually have people there who can show you what you will need to fill out and help you do it. There are also Volunteer's (VITA) sites in cities who will do it for free as well.

If you were my client, I would charge the same fee for an amended return as I would charge for an original return with the same information.
